The World Health Organization recently reported significant gains in the fight against malaria. Through the combined power of institutions, individuals, and the communities they represent, more people are receiving prevention and treatment tools than ever before.

Since 2000, we have seen a drop of more than 25 percent in the number of global deaths attributed to malaria.

In partnership with various organizations, governments and institutions, ExxonMobil is proud to do its part in driving and maintaining these recent successes in the fight against malaria. Since 2000, ExxonMobil has made contributions of more than $110 million to the cause. Our support has allowed our partners to:

  • Reach 83 million people; provide more than 13 million bed nets, 1.7 million treatment doses, 942,000 rapid diagnostic kits
  • Train more than 250,000 health care workers and counselors
  • Provide technical assistance that leveraged $791 million in grants to Angola and Nigeria from the Global Fund — $218 million for malaria projects
  • Helped fund three pediatric anti-malarial drugs

There is much more work to be done, and we stand committed to the fight.
