identifying sensitive areas

For new projects and developments, we conduct Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIAs) and integrate assessment results into project decision-making. Our assessments consist of an evaluation of biological, chemical, and physical characteristics, including people’s health and socio-economic needs as an integral part of the environment. With the help of computer specialists, map builders, and land use experts, we typically analyze surrounding land use in each project’s development area. This enables engineers to collaborate with environmental and socio-economic experts to identify sensitive areas before construction begins. With the use of satellite imagery, we are able to better assess how areas are impacted by the project and identify ways in which facilities could be redesigned to reduce their impacts.
